Squirrel Oaks features all of the home comforts & finishing touches you would expect from a Boutique Hotel.
Your private annex features a beautiful crushed velvet sleigh bed, dressed with crisp white Egyptian cotton sheets, plump duvet & comfortable pillows. TV in your en-suite room & adjoining lounge. Kettle, fridge, a range of beverages & biscuits, hairdryer, plenty of fluffy towels, dressing gowns, indulgent toiletries & free wireless internet access. Guests also have access to the gardens.
Delicious continental breakfast tray or a “Gut Busting” hot breakfast service often available on request!
ABOUT
We immediately fell in love with Squirrel Oaks! Lovely village location ,close to river walks, local pub 2 minutes walk, 20 minutes to beautiful Barnard Castle, 30 minutes to the stunning Georgian town of Richmond, and 5 minutes away from Darlington and modern amenities. Great walking, biking & some fabulous places to eat! We would love to share it all with you. We are happy to provide recommendations on where to go & what to see!
Shopping
Comprehensive local shopping facilities in Darlington & Barnard Castle, craft markets etc. A visit to York , well worth it, a fabulous experience & something for everyone!
Cultural Sites
Richmond Castle, Barnard Castle, Raby Castle, all within 30 minutes drive, and equally stunning. Beamish, a world renowned open air museum an authentic experience, depicting life during 1820's,1900's & 1940's. Fantastic day out!
Cycling/Walking
We have some superb walking and cycling tracks nearby, ask for a packed lunch to go with your days activities!
Guests are welcome to access the gardens. Why not enjoy your morning coffee in our pretty courtyard!
Continental breakfast items are included in your room rate, we can also provide our special "gut busting breakfast" on request for an additional charge.
